While much of Red Rocks Park is surrounded by Jefferson County Open Space, there are also several privately owned parcels adjacent to the Park. This undeveloped land contributes to the overall beauty and rural feeling of the valley in which the Park lies. The Master Plan suggests a cooperative endeavor between the City of Denver and Jefferson County to explore the possibility of acquiring as much of this private land as possible to ensure that the valley retains its quiet, natural feel. A recently approved subdivision at the entrance to Red Rocks Park underscores the urgency for beginning work on this initiative and FORR would like to make a significant contribution to the process. |
