Trail Cleanups - Last Saturday of every month

9:30 am Meeting time, Cleanup starts at 10

After a year and a half of Trail Cleanups, it appears we have established a tradition.  Lot's of trash has been picked up, the park looks better, and lots of new volunteers have become Friends of Red Rocks.

Directions:

Park and meet at our new meeting place: the Lower South parking lot  (past the amphitheatre if you are coming from Morrison, before the amphitheatre if you are coming from I-70).  We'll have trash bags, maps, liability waivers from Parks & Rec to sign, a quick orientation and introduction session for newcomers, and a first aid kit.

Wear or bring heavy-duty work gloves (there is a lot of broken glass), long-sleeved shirt, work shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen, hat, and a sack lunch to eat and/or share back at the Amphitheatre or the Geological Marker.

Trash bags from the trails clean-up can be left in or near the dumpsters at the Red Rocks Trading Post (just south of the Amphitheatre) to be picked up Monday.

FORR coordinate with Hope Carwile, Denver Mountain Parks, Denver Theaters and Arenas, Denver Parks and Recreation, and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, etc.  Thanks to Hope, Erik Dyce, Tripp Addison, Tad Bowman and "Ranger Scott" for your support and partnership!

This is a great example of the way public lands stewardship gets accomplished in Colorado!

Friends of Red Rocks needs lots of help to watch over the Red Rocks park and the surrounding valley. If you are interested in the tasks below, or any others you can think of, email us.
