What Are We Up to Now?

Ongoing Technology Advancements

From creating single-event waivers to automating systems, we are always gathering feedback on how we can improve technology and processes across the organization.

Migrating to Google Workspace

As a nonprofit organization, FoRR recently gained access to Google Workspace for Nonprofits. We are onboarding members and providing official email addresses to board members and committee chairpersons. Phase two will create an organization-wide Google Drive system that follows best practices.

Onboarding Committees to the Website

We are giving every committee a place to share its information, history, and important updates. The process includes meeting with committees to gather content and discuss design, creating page mockups, and receiving final approval from the board.

Updating the Website

We are keeping the website current with new information and resources, including general resources, meeting minutes, and a page where visitors can get to know the board.

OurHistory

Technology within Friends of Red Rocks has evolved since the organization's early days. As with most things in technology, the organization's needs are always changing. From its first webpage to obtaining its domain name, FoRR's technology has been carefully maintained by multiple teams over the years.

The Technology Committee was officially established in 2024, with Claud Badau as its first chairperson. It has grown to 10 active committee members as of 2026.

The Technology Committee meets monthly to discuss how it can improve processes and provide services to the organization, from data migration to online waiver systems and beyond.

I have been a Friend since we moved to Colorado in 2021. My wife and I love volunteering, so helping preserve the magic and clean the park was a no-brainer. We first experienced that magic in 2016 when we came to see Zeds Dead, with a double rainbow appearing during the show, and we want others to experience the same. I am currently a deadbeat (a Zeds Dead reference), staying at home with our son and helping Friends in any capacity I can.

I joined FoRR in 2024 after years of recommendations from Sam Henderson. I love volunteering and have been part of many organizations over the years. With a background in music and music technology, I felt very lucky when I finally joined FoRR. One of my favorite concerts was the Goo Goo Dolls in 2025, and I love attending fall concerts when the amphitheater is cooler. I currently work in the outdoor industry as a rock climbing guide and for a music technology company as a business analyst.

I joined FoRR in January 2026 after recently retiring from a 30-year career in IT. I have been hiking in the park and going to shows since my husband and I moved here in 2001. I have been mesmerized by this venue since day one, and it seems that the music and love get better every time!

I joined Friends back in 2022 and have had a blast. Though I love Red Rocks, I spend as much time rock climbing and trail running as I can!

I have been a Friend for eight years and have lived in Colorado for about 26 years. I have a career in IT, and on the side I enjoy tinkering with technology and am always up for learning more about virtualization and automation.

    Darin Nesline

Hello, I am Darin Nesline. I have been an "unofficial" Friend of Red Rocks since 1993, enjoying many awesome shows over the years before my family and I officially joined in 2019. In addition to participating in weekend cleanups, serving on the board, and balancing my day job, I love skiing, biking, and camping with friends and family.

I have been a Friend of Red Rocks since 2025 and a fan of Red Rocks since moving to Colorado in 1996. Red Rocks is my happy place, and I joined FoRR to help keep it a beautiful, happy place for others for years to come. I have also worked in IT since the 1980s and enjoy tinkering, cycling, and attending shows as much as I can.

I first stumbled upon FoRR in 2001, when a friend who was a DMP ranger took us from brunch in Morrison to clean graffiti off the old incinerator. I moved much closer to Red Rocks in 2009 and have been pretty involved ever since, serving on the board and multiple committees over the years. I am a Colorado native and lucky enough to have seen many shows here. In high school, we would come at night to sit in complete darkness while random musicians played on stage - magical! Although change is inevitable, I am interested in balancing it with preservation and keeping Red Rocks just as magical for generations to come.
